Jānis Tomsons (August 9, 1933 – December 3, 2014) was a Latvian actor known for his significant contributions to theater and film. He graduated from the Latvian State Conservatory's Theater Faculty and began his career with a role in 'The Story of the Latvian Rifleman'. He worked at the Youth Theater before moving to the Valmiera Theater in 1970. In recognition of his lifetime achievements, he received the Valmiera Theater Award in 2013.
