Petras Paulaitis was a Lithuanian educator, philosopher, theologian, partisan, and political prisoner who was notable for spending an extended period in Soviet labor camps, including locations in Vorkuta, Irkutsk, and Mordovia, under harsh conditions. Born on June 29, 1904, in Kalnėnai, Russian Empire, he died on February 19, 1986, in Kretinga, Lithuanian SSR. Paulaitis was one of the longest-serving Lithuanian prisoners in Soviet camps, including the notorious 'Akmenės maišas' prison.
