Dёgtev Pyotr Maksimovich (December 19, 1918 - October 11, 2003) was a Soviet Army sergeant who received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union on February 22, 1944. He served in the 178th Guards Rifles Regiment, 60th Guards Rifle Division during World War II, notably on the front lines in Ukraine. His bravery and service during combat earned him the Soviet Union's highest honor, recognizing exceptional valor in the face of enemy forces.
