Grigory Matveyevich Volnyansky (February 15, 1921 – October 30, 1941) was a Soviet officer and artilleryman who participated in World War II. He was a lieutenant and commander of an anti-aircraft battery, known for engaging German tanks during the Battle for Tula. On October 30, 1941, Volnyansky's unit destroyed 14 enemy tanks but ultimately he was killed in action. For his bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Lenin. He is commemorated in Tula, where a street and a memorial honor his contributions during the war.
