Petro Mykołenko, also known as Bajda, was a prominent Ukrainian commander born on February 20, 1921, in Berezowa Łuca near Hadziacz. He served as a major in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and was initially a lieutenant in the Red Army. After joining UPA in 1943, he led various units until his emigration to the West in 1947, where he commanded remaining UPA partisans until 1950, before moving to the USA.
