Known by his nicknames 'Catfish Brother' and 'Shark Brother', he played as a catcher for the Chinatrust Brothers in the Chinese Professional Baseball League. Lin was drafted in the 2015 draft, signing for NT$2.0 million. He transitioned to hitting in 2012 and gained attention for his powerful batting. He is recognized for his impressive size, being the second tallest catcher in CPBL history at 187 cm.
