Leonid Stepanovich Kossman (September 24, 1915 – January 22, 2010) was a Soviet-American linguist and philologist, well-known for his expertise in German studies. He authored textbooks on German phraseology and English usage and grammar for Russian speakers. Kossman also worked as a journalist in exile. His contributions to linguistics were significant, bridging Russian and Western linguistic traditions and education, particularly in the context of German language instruction.
