Lee Young-il (李英一, 1903-1984) was a painter, writer, sculptor, and educator who worked during the Japanese colonial period and in Korea. He gained recognition after winning a 3rd prize at the 1925 Joseon Art Exhibition and achieved special selections for seven consecutive years. His notable works include the painting 'Country Girl' from 1928. He worked as an instructor across several art schools and established his own art academy while influencing many students, including Jeong Chan-young. He was also known for his strong physique and was nicknamed 'Strong Painter.'
