He served as a tank platoon commander in the 66th Guards Tank Brigade during World War II, distinguishing himself in combat. His heroic actions were recognized on March 24, 1945, when he was granted this prestigious honor for his bravery and leadership on the battlefield, particularly on the Belarus Front.
