محمد عمر أحمد باطويل (1944-2021) was a Yemeni poet from Aden. He received his education in his hometown and continued his studies until high school. He worked in oil companies in Aden before moving to free trade. Writing poetry from an early age, he authored numerous romantic and national poems that were sung by various artists. He was also the father of the young Omar Batwail, who was killed due to his secular beliefs in Aden.
