He served as the director of the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical Institute from 1940 to 1942. Zhurkov passed away on February 23, 1980, in Krasnoyarsk, RSFSR, USSR. His contributions to education and politics were significant during his tenure in the Soviet Union.
