Pavel Zeleňák was a Slovak fighter pilot and ace during World War II. He served in the Czechoslovak military aviation before the war and fought on the Eastern Front against the Soviet Union. He achieved 12 confirmed aerial victories and participated in a major air battle in southwestern Slovakia on June 26, 1944. After sustaining a spinal injury during an emergency landing, his flying career ended in 1948 due to health issues. Zeleňák was discharged from the army during purges in 1958 and passed away in 1973.
