He worked at Tatarstan State University of Humanities and Education from 1963 to 1988 and again from 1990 to 1997, and he held the position of vice-rector at KPI from 1988 to 1990. He also joined Tatarstan Academy of Sciences as part of the History Institute from 1997 and led the National Archaeology Research Center from 1990 to 2004. He contributed to the development of the archaeological map of Tatarstan.
