Жүнісұлы Ахмет (1926-1998) was a Kazakh writer, journalist, and ethnographer born in Qyzyl-tas village, East Kazakhstan. He graduated from the pedagogical institute in Ürümqi, China, in 1947 and became the chief editor of the 'Shughla' magazine until 1961. His short stories began to be published in the 1950s, and his works were translated into Chinese and Uyghur. After returning to Kazakhstan in 1961, he worked as a teacher and later at 'Ana tili' newspaper from 1995 to 1997.
