Vladimir Petrovich Vysotsky (January 13, 1911 - 1983) was a Soviet painter and illustrator born in St. Petersburg. He graduated from a seven-year school in 1926 and attended the studio of the Association of Revolutionary Artists in Moscow from 1928 to 1930. He participated in exhibitions from 1928 onward and joined the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1932. A veteran of World War II, he received numerous military honors. Later, he worked as an illustrator for various publishing houses and magazines and was awarded a medal for 'Selfless Work' in 1970.
