Youssef Al-Badri (December 20, 1938 - February 23, 2014) was a well-known Egyptian Islamic preacher who gained notoriety for initiating numerous lawsuits against Egyptian writers. Notably, he won a judgement against poet Ahmed Abdel-Moaty Higazi, who was fined 20,000 Egyptian pounds. Al-Badri also successfully sued the editor of 'Akhbar Al-Adab', novelist Gamal Al-Ghitani, and journalist Mohamed Shaeer, who were similarly fined 20,000 pounds. Additionally, he secured a judgement against Egyptian critic Jaber Asfour, the head of the National Center for Translation, and Al-Ahram newspaper, imposing a fine of 50,000 pounds.
