Sheikh Shaaban Abdel Aziz Al-Sayyad was an influential Egyptian Quran reader born on September 20, 1940, in Sarawa, Ashmon, Menoufia. He memorized the Quran at the age of seven and studied at the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Al-Azhar University. In 1975, he joined the Egyptian Radio and traveled to various countries during Ramadan to perform Quran recitations. He was appointed as the reader of Al-Shaarani Mosque in Cairo.
