Alexander Ivanovich Yurzhienko (August 16, 1910 – June 19, 1999) was a prominent physicochemical scientist. He served as the head of the laboratory at the All-Union Research Institute of Synthetic Rubber named after S.V. Lebedev from 1941 to 1945. Yurzhienko was the vice-rector for academic work at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv from 1957 to 1960 and rector of Odessa State University from 1960 to 1970. He received a Doctor of Chemical Sciences degree in 1949 and was appointed professor in 1950.
