Stanislav Nikiforovich Bratchenko was a prominent Soviet and Ukrainian archaeologist born on September 3, 1936, in Krasny Luch, Ukraine. He was renowned for his research on the Bronze Age cultures of Eastern Europe. Bratchenko notably contributed to the study of the Catacomb culture and authored significant works on the only known Bronze Age stone fortress in Russia, located at Liventsovka. Additionally, he founded and directed the archaeological museum-reserve 'Tanais' and earned a doctorate in historical sciences.
