Yang Jiarun (October 28, 1912 – September 6, 1966) was a Chinese music conductor born in Nanjing, originally from Zhongshan, Guangdong. He served as the head of the conducting department at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music starting in 1956. During the Cultural Revolution, he faced persecution which culminated in his tragic suicide alongside his wife, Cheng Zhuoru, in 1966. His notable works include 'The Outline of Tonal Form' and the choral piece 'The Half-Moon Climbs'.
