Igor Vasilyevich Komissarov (1931-2011) was a prominent Soviet and Ukrainian pharmacologist, notable for his contributions to molecular pharmacology and the study of neurotransmitter receptors. After completing his medical education with distinction, he dedicated his career to academic and scientific pursuits, holding various positions including professor and department head. He contributed to the development of new pharmacological agents and published extensively, authoring six monographs and numerous research papers. Komissarov was recognized as a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
