Liu Di (July 6, 1950 – October 18, 2011) was a Chinese dissident known for his active participation in the 1976 Tiananmen Incident, and was subsequently arrested and imprisoned. After his release, he contributed to the 'Democracy Wall' movement and edited 'Beijing Spring'. In the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, he acted as a student advisor but was arrested again and imprisoned until April 1990. Liu Di passed away due to lung cancer in Beijing on October 18, 2011. His father was Liu Junxiang, a prominent Chinese biologist.
