The Onion was a Swedish-born trotter born on June 17, 1979, and died in 1994. He won the Sprintermästaren in 1983 at Halmstad racetrack with a then-world record time of 1.12.0ak and also secured the Elitloppet in 1984, marking the first win in this event for trainer Stig H. Johansson. After his racing career ended in 1985, he had a limited breeding career with only 36 offspring, his best being the mare Gossip, who earned a significant amount in prize money. A race named The Onions Lopp commemorates him since 2004.
