György Frank was a Hungarian-Jewish medical doctor and surgeon, born on February 8, 1910, in Kiskunfélegyháza, Hungary. He earned his MD and later completed a doctorate in medical sciences (CSc) in 1957. Frank was a pioneer in the field of burn treatment, publishing numerous books on the subject, specifically focusing on burns from fire and scalding, frostbite, and traumatology. He is credited as being the first in the world to use large-scale skin grafting for burn patients. He passed away in Budapest on December 9, 1959.
