Արտյուշ Վարդգեսի Շահբազյան is a former member of the National Assembly of Armenia, born on February 18, 1961, in Yerevan. He graduated from the Yerevan Kh. Abovian State Pedagogical Institute with a specialization in Theater Direction in 1984. He served in the Soviet Army from 1984 to 1986 and worked at the Hayfilm studio. He became associated with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation in 1990 and held various media-related positions within the organization. He was elected to the National Assembly in the proportional representation system in 2007. He is married and has three children.
