Pyotr Khokhlov was a Soviet Air Force lieutenant general and a Hero of the Soviet Union, born on January 12, 1910, in Jesipovo, Russian Empire, and died on March 7, 1990, in Moscow, USSR. He began his career as a turner in a factory before joining the Soviet Navy in 1932. Khokhlov graduated from aviation schools and participated in the Winter War and World War II, where he conducted mine-laying and reconnaissance flights in the Baltic and was a key player in the first air raid on Berlin on August 8, 1941.
