Przemysław Piekarski was a Polish philologist, oriental scholar, Judaist, and translator born on September 15, 1952, in Wałbrzych and died on September 24, 2019, in Kraków. He held a PhD in philological sciences and specialized in Indology, Hindi language and literature, Indian mysticism, and comparative studies. He served as a senior lecturer at the Department of Indian Studies at Jagiellonian University, where he taught courses on Indology and Judaica. He also led Yiddish language workshops during the Jewish Culture Festival in Kraków.
