Pŏm-sŏn Yi (born December 30, 1920, in Shinanju, Korea) was a South Korean novelist and university professor, known for his contributions to modern Korean literature. A member of the first generation of post-war literary figures, he began his literary career in 1955 with his short stories 'Dark Ticket' and 'Sunday'. Throughout his life, he held teaching positions at various institutions while continuing his creative work. Yi announced his retirement from writing in November 1981 and passed away on March 13, 1982, due to a brain hemorrhage.
