Pok-sŏng Cho (December 3, 1905 – March 19, 1971), known as the 'Korean Fabre,' was an esteemed zoologist and educator who significantly contributed to the advancement of natural sciences in Korea. Influenced by his childhood experiences with wildlife and a keen interest in entomology, he published the first entomological paper in Korea at the age of 25. Cho worked at various academic institutions, expanding his research on insects and contributing over 83 publications. After the Korean War, he dedicated efforts to educating future zoologists and left his estate and research to support scholarships.
