Panna Lal Punia, known as P. L. Punia, is an Indian politician associated with the Indian National Congress. He served as a Member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh from 2014 to 2020 and represented Barabanki in the Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014. A prominent Dalit leader, he chaired the National Commission for Scheduled Castes from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, he was a member of the National Human Rights Commission. Punia also gained recognition by appearing on the TV show Satyamev Jayate to raise awareness about discrimination faced by scheduled castes.
