Piet Malan was a South African rugby player born on February 13, 1919, and who passed away on July 5, 2015. He played for the Springboks in a test match against Fred Allen's 1949 All Blacks and represented Transvaal rugby. Malan was an honorary vice-president of the Lions and was part of the Transvaal team that won the Currie Cup in 1950. Until 2005, he was the oldest living Springbok player, a title that was then passed on after his death.
