Pierre-Yves Jorand is a Swiss athlete known for his achievements in speed skiing and sailing. He became the first skier to exceed 200 km/h and was the European champion. Jorand represented Switzerland in the 1992 Winter Olympics in a demonstration speed skiing event. Tragically, a fellow competitor died in an accident during warm-ups. In sailing, he took on key roles in the America's Cup with Alinghi as a technical coach and trimmer, and he has been involved with the Swiss Olympic sailing selection committee since 2014.
