Pierre Marie Ernest Sweerts (1918-1989) was a Belgian SS officer who was sentenced to death in absentia after World War II. During the war, he worked for the German counterintelligence service, hunting communists, shot-down pilots, and deserters in Belgian Limburg. His actions during the war led to his post-war condemnation.
