Pierre-Marie-Joseph Puech was a French Roman Catholic prelate, born on March 8, 1906, in Mazamet, Tarn, France, and passed away on January 1, 1995. He served as the Bishop of Carcassonne for thirty years from 1952 to 1982. During the German Occupation, he was the superior of the small seminary in Castres within the diocese of Albi, where he sheltered five wanted teachers and Jewish students under false identities. In 1992, he was recognized as Righteous Among the Nations for his actions during World War II.
