Sir Philip John Courtney Mawer (born 30 July 1947) is a former Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, serving from 2002 to 2008. Following his tenure, he became an independent advisor on Ministerial standards to then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Prior to this role, Mawer was the Secretary General of the General Synod of the Church of England, demonstrating a notable career in governance and church affairs.
