Philip Marsden, born on May 11, 1961, is an English travel writer and novelist. He has a background in anthropology and worked for The Spectator magazine before becoming a full-time writer in the late 1980s. A notable literary figure, he became a Fellow of The Royal Society of Literature in 1996. Marsden has familial ties to the baronets of Campsie, being a grandson and a first cousin to current and past baronets. He resides in Cornwall with his wife, writer Charlotte Hobson, and their children.
