Petteri Piironen is a Finnish javelin coach, born on December 10, 1976, in Imatra. He has coached notable athletes such as Toni Kuusela, Teemu Narvia, and Julius Yego, the first Kenyan to reach the Olympic javelin final in 2012. Piironen is based at the Kuortane Sports Institute, a development center for javelin throwing recognized by the IAAF. In addition to javelin coaching, he worked as a strength coach for the ice hockey team Tampereen Ilves from 2014 to 2016. His personal best javelin throw is 76.38 meters.
