Peter Weber was a Romanian ornithologist born on October 27, 1947, in Mediaș. He was a founding member of the Romanian Ornithological Society and served as the director of the Municipal Museum in Mediaș. In 1994, he became a lecturer at the Faculty of Ecology at the University of Sibiu. Between 1990 and 1992, Weber was elected as a deputy in the Romanian Parliament, where he also held the position of president of the Environment Commission.
