Peter van Aarle (1962-2005) was the founder and curator of the Internet Adult Film Database (IAFD). Since 1981, he collected information on adult films in a personal database. He was a moderator for the moderated newsgroup rec.arts.movies.erotica which began in 1994, maintaining its FAQs and helping launch the website rame.net. Under the pseudonym Peter Holland, he performed in the adult film Fan Fuxxx 6 alongside actress Christi Lake. Van Aarle was posthumously inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2011.
