He earned a degree in electrical engineering, focusing on communication technology, and worked for various companies, contributing significantly to the telecommunications sector. Mihatsch held leadership positions at Standard Elektrik Lorenz and Mannesmann, where he was instrumental in developing their mobile communication division. Later, he became the chairman of Toll Collect and received the Alexander-Graham-Bell Medal in 2005 for his contributions to telecommunications.
