Peter Juhani Lahdenpera was a Finnish-American cross-country skier, biathlete, and biathlon coach, born on December 29, 1935, in Helsinki. He represented the USA in the 1960 and 1964 Winter Olympics, competing in cross-country skiing and biathlon, respectively. After an active sports career, he transitioned to coaching, including leading the USA national team in biathlon. His last involvement at the Olympics was in 2010 in Vancouver, where he attended as a private individual, having stepped away from official positions. He passed away on July 3, 2019.
