Peter Elming was a Danish economist and public official, born on September 4, 1951, in Birkerød. He graduated in 1977 and began working at DSB in 1973. Elming held various management roles, contributing to the modernization of DSB and the Plan 2000 initiative. He also chaired the Danish Cyclist Federation from 1980 to 1988. In March 1993, he became the secretary general of the Ministry of Transport but died later that year in a traffic accident. He was married and had four children.
