He served as the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dundee from 2009 to 2018 and is currently the chairman of Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. Co-founder of the Division of Signal Transduction Therapy (DSTT), he has significantly impacted pharmaceutical research. With eleven years of experience in the industry, he is recognized as one of the top 15 most cited bio-scientists in the UK.
