Peter Michael Copeland (1942-2006) was an English sound archivist known for his passion for collecting gramophone records and recording sounds. He began his career at the BBC, later becoming a key figure in sound conservation at the National Sound Archive. Copeland significantly contributed to the digitization of audio archives and researched the reproduction of old recordings. He retired in 2002 but continued consulting until his death, during which he worked on a manual for analogue sound restoration techniques. His extensive collection of recordings was donated to the British Library Sound Archive.
