Peter Philip Carey, born on May 7, 1943, is an Australian novelist and a two-time winner of the Booker Prize. He won his first Booker Prize in 1988 for 'Oscar and Lucinda' and his second in 2001 for 'True History of the Kelly Gang'. Since 1990, Carey has been residing in New York, where he teaches a creative writing course at Hunter College of the City University of New York.
