Rear-Admiral Cecil Robert Peter Charles Branson CBE (1924–2011) was a distinguished Royal Navy officer, notable for his role as Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) from 1975 to 1977. He was born in Saint-Malo, France, and had the unique experience of being torpedoed twice during his naval training. Commanding various ships including the anti-submarine frigate HMS Roebuck and overseeing the HMS Rooke naval base in Gibraltar, he dedicated his life to naval service before retiring in March 1977.
