Julius Karl 'Pete' Leichnitz (1926–2011) was a Canadian ice hockey player known for being part of the Ottawa RCAF Flyers team that won the gold medal at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Although he did not play in the games due to team composition rules, his contribution as a member of the squad was vital in achieving Canada's first Olympic hockey gold since 1932. Leichnitz's participation in such a prestigious event highlights his role in Canadian hockey history.
