Perugu Siva Reddy (1920-2005) was a prominent eye surgeon from Andhra Pradesh, India, recognized for his expertise in ophthalmology. He earned his M.B.B.S. in 1946 and M.S. in 1952. He established T. L. Kapadia Eye Bank in 1964, the first eye bank in India, and performed over 250,000 cataract surgeries, setting a world record. Honored with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, he contributed significantly to public health through eye camps, especially in rural areas. He passed away in 2005, leaving a lasting legacy in eye care.
