William Percy Miller Jr. was a minor league baseball player who made history by breaking the color barrier in the Carolina League. Born on June 6, 1931, in Danville, Virginia, he began his career with the Danville Stars, a Negro League team. He debuted with the Danville Leafs on August 9, 1951, marking the first integrated professional team in Virginia. Miller played nineteen games that season before being released in February 1952 due to concerns about his skill level, subsequently returning to the Stars.
