Per S. Enger was a notable Norwegian zoophysiologist born on February 24, 1929, in Oslo. He earned his dr.philos. degree in 1963 with a thesis on the fish auditory system and began his career at the University of Oslo in 1956. Enger became a professor of zoophysiology in 1975, a position he held until 1994. His contributions to the field were recognized with his election as a fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters before his passing on November 19, 2018.
